Cross tables – also known as XY tables – are two-axis systems where two linear single-axis guides are integrated at a 90° angle. This setup enables precise and dynamic movement on a flat plane along both the X and Y axes. Cross tables are commonly driven by linear motors, but configurations with spindle or belt drives are also available.
Regardless of size or application, the fundamental design and function of these high-precision positioning systems remain consistent.
