Exact and reliable control and movement of patient beds
For the control of patient beds in an MRT, JAT developed a drive system consisting of the mechanics, electrics and a compact solution housing, including the sensor technology and bus system integration. Due to the area of application, the requirements in terms of accuracy and security were very high for the solution. So it was important to achieve maximum interference immunity. The measurement results in this demanding environment were not allowed to be influenced and an extremely high electromagnetic compatibility was essential.
Requirements:
- Movement of several axes (y-axis for raising and lowering the bed, control of the z-axis for horizontal patient movement and monitoring of the measuring system)
- Measurement and position control with optical sensors
- Detection of the entry height position
- Position of the patient in the device (z-axis)
- Acquisition of the scan field during the examination
- Transmission to the MRI interface
- Compliance with / implementation of the safety concept (dead man's handling)
- The drive system must be able to be switched off immediately at any time
- EMC protection
