Briefly explained - the ECOSTEP® principle
The term ECOSTEP® stands for a high-pole synchronous motor that is equipped with an encoder and is energised by a servo amplifier using sinusoidal commutation. ECOSTEP® drives are highly dynamic in the typical speed range up to 1000 rpm and are therefore ideal as direct drives. Eliminating the gearbox increases the positioning accuracy of the drive and improves efficiency.
The ECOSTEP® is also ideal for applications with continuous start/stop operation, as the power loss is lower compared to conventional AC servomotors with the same torque and size.
ECOSTEP® portfolio
JAT is continuously expanding the ECOSTEP® servo motor series. The motors with flange dimensions from NEMA17 to NEMA42 and peak torque up to 15 Nm are available with incremental encoders with resolutions of up to 256,000 inc/rev as well as with SINCOS and absolute encoders. Suitable servo drives, also as motor-integrated compact drives, are also available.
The customisation
We can adapt ECOSTEP® motors quickly and efficiently to customer requirements thanks to the extensive modular system and the numerous mechanical options such as holding brake, gear, key, shaft and various connectors.
