About us

Our home - highly innovative drive technology

We are JAT, a technology company that sets standards in drive technology. Our solutions enable high-tech worldwide - wherever lenses, lasers, sensors or workpieces in the micro and nanometer range need to be moved highly dynamically. Our employees develop and manufacture servo components and highly complex positioning and motion systems for the most demanding industrial applications.

Our wide range of products includes linear technology, servo motors, servo amplifiers and innovative software technology functions, which we combine to create perfectly coordinated complete solutions. With our claim to always be one step ahead, we inspire customers who value our interdisciplinary and experienced development and manufacturing expertise.

What makes us special, in addition to our expertise, is our passion for each individual project. Our customized drive solutions enable products that shape our daily lives all over the world: from MRI tables and textiles to smartphone circuit boards.

Our story

"Once upon a time, there were a couple of Zeiss employees who were very interested and loved drive technology. One day, they started up a conversation and one asked the other: How can we pass on our scholarly knowledge to the customers? After much discussion, the former Zeiss employees made a decision. So, in August 1990, they went to a notary, full of joyful courage and passion in their hearts, and founded JAT – Jenaer Antriebstechnik GmbH. And now, many JAT employees happily tinker at the company. And the moral of the story is, JAT would definitely not exist without passion."

We would like to thank the founders for their courage and passion more than 30 years ago.

  • Continuous further development of the product range (ECOSTEP®, ECOVARIO®, ECOMPACT®,…)
