A good deed at Christmas
In 2019 we have planted 500 sessile oaks. For this year's Christmas campaign, we nurtured sessile oaks and cleared them of overgrowth. Almost all trees have done well through the dry and sometimes too warm past two years. They are now 5 - 30 centimetres tall.
In addition, colleagues sawed, drilled and hammered diligently. With the help of NABU Jena, they built new nesting boxes for the birds of Jena Forest. Due to the death of trees, the birds have fewer nesting places.
