Our home - drive technology

JAT is a technology company in the automation sector. We find the solution for every lens, laser, sensor or workpiece that needs to be moved with high dynamics in the sub-micrometer range. Our 200 employees develop and manufacture servo components and highly complex positioning and motion systems for customers with demanding industrial applications. We base our solutions on our wide range of products, which includes and combines linear drive technology, servo motors, servo amplifiers and software technology functions.
Our expertise attracts customers who appreciate our interdisciplinary and experienced development and manufacturing teams. In addition to our expertise, what sets us apart as JAT is our passion for each and every project. In use throughout the world, our customer-specific drive solutions help in manufacturing products that impact our daily lives; from MRI tables via textiles to smartphone circuit boards.

Our story

"Once upon a time, there were a couple of Zeiss employees who were very interested and loved drive technology. One day, they started up a conversation and one asked the other: How can we pass on our scholarly knowledge to the customers? After much discussion, the former Zeiss employees made a decision. So, in August 1990, they went to a notary, full of joyful courage and passion in their hearts, and founded JAT – Jenaer Antriebstechnik GmbH. And now, 200 JAT employees happily tinker at the company. And the moral of the story is, JAT would definitely not exist without passion."
